According to safewise.com, people who are moving to North Dakota are not doing so because of employment opportunities, but because the state is one of the safest in the nation. Sitting on top of the safest communities in North Dakota, according to the website, is Carrington.

In the study, only cities with population over 2,000 residents were considered. Carrington reported nearly no violent crimes in the city over the past year, making it the safest city in North Dakota. Other communities in order were Lincoln, Minot, West Fargo and Wahpeton.
