N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Summertime is on the minds of many residents both locally and statewide. But, the shift in weather from winter to summer demands the mindset shift to the severe weather that can occur with the seasonal change.

Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist stated that during the week of April 27th through May 1st, residents will be reminded of the possibility that severe summer weather can occur in our area and state.

Bergquist stated that the best way for residents to prepare themselves is to stay tuned to local media as reports of weather changes and severe weather warnings will be reported as soon as they are known. He also stated that residents can stay up to date with warnings and watches by subscribing to CODERed, a free service for Stutsman County residents to remain informed.

Residents can sign up on the Stutsman County Website at no charge. If anyone has any questions on Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week, CODERed, or weather testing and information, you can contact the Stutsman County Emergency Management Office at (701)-252-9093.
