Jeanne Frantz, 84, died Saturday, April 24, 2015 at the Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley, ND. She was born on January 6, 1931 in Moorhead, MN, the second daughter of Edwin and Luella (Kuska) Bredell. She attended school and graduated from Dickey High School in 1946. Beverly married Eugene Wilmart in 1954. Four children were born to this union which ended in divorce. She married James Frantz in 1969 was divorced.
Beverly worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Jamestown as an operator. In 1961 she moved to Illinois and worked as a seamstress doing sewing and alterations. She then took a job at the Shoppers World Store as a cashier, credit check and return desk clerk. Beverly was also the store photographer. As the store changed hands and became Community Discount, she worked as department head for linen, fabric, giftware, infants and children. The store was sold again to Republic Lumber and then to Handy Andy Home Improvement and she worked as floor clerk. After additional training, Beverly became a plumbing and hardware retail specialist. She was at the same location for all the store turnovers and was actually listed by one of the store’s managers as a “permanent fixture” during one of the sales! She ended her career as the shipping and receiving manager, retiring in May of 1993. Beverly also held jobs as a taxi dispatcher and linen department clerk at Marshalls Department Store.
She retired and moved to Jamestown and was a caregiver to her sister, Phoebe. Beverly moved to Edgeley in 1998. She was an avid reader of mysteries and science fiction. She had taken correspondence courses in art and did pencil sketches and chalk drawings of her favorite subjects, which were animals and horses in particular.
Beverly is survived by a son, Ed (Laquita) Wilmart, Lowell, IN; three nieces, Linda Kiser, Park Forest, IL, Susan (Lawrence) Goehring, Edgeley, ND and Rebecca Gear, Steele, ND; three great nephews; two great nieces; and ten great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phoebe; grandson, Michael Wilmart; and three children, Melody Ann, Amy Jeanne, and Michael Eugene.
In honor of Beverly’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
