N.D.- After being shut-out by a 7-0 fashion on Thursday night at Wilson Arena by Bismarck, the Jamestown High School boys hockey team ended their losing streak on the young season and got back on track with a 4-1 win at home versus the Williston Coyotes on Saturday afternoon.
Jake Stillwill had two goals, as well as an assist for the home team. The Blue Jays also registered goals from Alex Williams and Brady Anderson.

“I still think we didn’t put enough pucks in the net because we had a good load of quality scoring chances.” said Jamestown Head Coach Matt Stockert. “I thought we played a pretty good game, we just need to bury our chances and put them in the back of the net more often. We’re still getting better at the little things, and that is slowly coming around.”
Junior goaltender Tygh Yatskis made 31 saves for the Jays, and Nate Friesen came in late in the third to make four saves on five shots. The Jays had a shutout going until 1:14 left in regulation when Keaton Leininger scored the lone goal for Williston.
Jamestown improve to 1-5 and 1-4 in the Western Dakota Association. With the loss, Williston falls to 1-4 overall and in the WDA. Sophomore Ty Berg made 32 saves for the visiting Coyotes on 36 shots.
Next up for Jamestown High is a contest in Bismarck against the Bismarck Century Patriots on Friday, December 16. Coverage can be heard on Classic Hits KQDJ-AM 1400/97.1 FM and NewsDakota.com starting at 7:06, with faceoff at 7:30.
