(NewsDakota.com) After losing the previous two season to Oakes, the Carrington High School football team rolled past the hometown Tornadoes 52-8 Friday night at Cummings Field.
The Cardinals (6-0, 3-0 Class A Region I) scored the first 52 unanswered, which included two interception returns for touchdowns: 70 yards from Cole Ferguson with nine minutes remaining in the opening half, and a 63 yard score from Jacob Fandrich as the first half expired. Fandrich also returned the opening second half kickoff for a score, from 63 yards out.
The Tornadoes (3-3 ,2-1) had their lone score come in the fourth quarter thanks to a four yard touchdown reception by freshman Taylor Schall from senior Brody Bartholomew; which ended up being Schall’s first varsity score. Senior Ethan Zetocha caught the two point conversion.
