Blue Jay Softball Settles For Split With Bismarck
JAMESTOWN – After rallying for a game 1 win, Jamestown Blue Jays softball could manage only a split Saturday against Bismarck.
JHS won the first game 7-6 before Bismarck won the nightcap 9-4 at Trapper Lawrence Field.
Game 1: Jamestown 7, Bismarck 6
Brooke Jackson brought in the go-ahead runs with a two-run sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to finish a three-run rally.
Makenna Nold and Lucy Falk each drove in two runs for Jamestown (15-8, 11-6 WDA). Jordan Mikkelson also drove in a run.
Nold (7-4) struck out nine in a complete game victory in the circle.
Game 2: Bismarck 9, Jamestown 4
Aided by four Jamestown errors, the Demons never trailed. Brielle Wrangham and Mya Jones each drove in two runs for Bismarck.
Nold hit her team-leading seventh home run for Jamestown (15-9, 11-7).
Maddie Hoff (8-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing six runs, six hits and eight walks in four and a third innings.
Jamestown will host Kindred/Richland in a non-conference game Monday at Trapper Lawrence Field.
