SIOUX CENTER, IA – Aurora Tyson hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday to complete a comeback from a five-run deficit and give Dordt a 12-11 win over Jamestown in an elimination game of the GPAC Softball Tournament at the American State Bank Sports Complex.

Dordt scored two unearned runs in the seventh, as the tying run scored on a throwing error by Ally Battistoni.  Another error by Hope Ransome, the Jimmies’ fifth of the game, followed and extended the rally.

Kayla Quintanilla and Mackenzie Lefebvre each had a double, home run and three RBI as Jamestown (30-16), surviving a six-run first inning by Dordt, built an 11-6 lead through three and a half innings.  Sam Martinez hit a two-run single.  Trinity Gregg, Ransome and Battistoni also drove in runs.

Dordt then rallied for three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth before the winning rally in the seventh.

Ransome (14-5) came on in relief when Dordt had the tying run on with one out in the bottom of the sixth and recorded two strikeouts, but allowed two runs and a hit in the seventh.
