On January 25, 2021, Kiersten Olauson was 30 week pregnant. She was intubated due to Grand Mal Seizures stemming from Eclampsia.
In order to save Kiersten, they needed to deliver their baby.
On January 25th, Grace Olauson, daughter to Kierseten and Jacob Olauson was board by cesarean 10 weeks premature. She weighed 3 pounds at birth. Grace is currently 8 weeks old and still in the NICU in Fargo. She is up to 6 pounds. They have found 2 holes in her lower heart chamber that she will continue to monitor with a pediatric cardiologist.
They do believe when she does leave the NICU, Grace will need to be on a heart monitor and oxygen as well as home health for at least the first 6 months.
A spaghetti benefit to help with medical expenses will be held. Monday, April 19th from 5-8pm at the Valley City Eagles Club. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. A benefit account has been set up at Dacotah Bank.
For the safety of not bringing anything back to Grace, the family asks you to please wear a mask.
