JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The JPS Advanced Theatre Arts class performs The SpongeBob Musical on June 26 and 27 at 7:00 pm in the Jamestown High School Theater. The play follows the citizens of Bikini Bottom as they face an imminent volcanic catastrophe. SpongeBob, Patrick Star, and Sandy Cheeks jump into action to save the town. The musical first appeared on Broadway in 2017 with an upbeat score composed by a plethora of popular songwriters.
Forty students from the high school, middle school, and several elementary schools began rehearsals on May 27. The orchestra includes high school, college, and community musicians. Direction is by Mike McIntyre, music direction by Jacob Sherfy, choreography by Alivia Hoke, and costumes by Cheryl McIntyre. Tickets are $7 and will be available at the door.
