Unwanted pumpkins and gourds can be composted free of charge. Please take them to the grass and leaf collection site instead of throwing them into your garbage. It will reduce the cost of weight going to the Fargo landfill. The Valley City grass and leaf collection site is open 24 hours a day just west of the Transfer Station southwest of Valley City.
