The Viking Battalion was a special US Army unit during World War II that required soldiers to be able to speak and write in Norwegian. Come and learn about their contributions to fight fascism. There were several soldiers in the 99th that were from area. Irene Starck, member of the 99th Infantry Battalion Education Foundation and daughter of a soldier in the battalion will tell their story April 19 in the Valley City Eagles Club at 7pm.
