JAMESTOWN – The chances are almost out for Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Basketball to avoid playing an extra game.

Williston completed a regular-season sweep of the Jamestown girls with a 54-51 victory Friday at the Jamestown Civic Center.

The Coyotes completed a sweep of the evening with a 65-62 boys win over the Blue Jays.

Girls: Williston 54, Jamestown 51

Jamestown (4-16, 1-14 WDA) lost for the eighth straight time.  However, a win Tuesday for the Blue Jays at Dickinson would keep Jamestown out of the girls WDA play in game next week and give them the seventh seed in the WDA Tournament.  If Jamestown loses at Dickinson, they would have to play at Williston in that play in game.

Jamestown defeated Dickinson 70-62 in overtime on January 19 at the Civic Center for the Blue Jays’ only league win so far.

Boys: Williston 65, Jamestown 62

Jamestown (6-14, 4-11) lost for the third time in four games, but a Williston loss to Legacy earlier in the week clinched the seventh seed in the WDA Tournament for the Blue Jays.

Both teams’ regular seasons will conclude on Tuesday at Dickinson.  Coverage will begin Tuesday at 6:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1, with links to audio and video available at newsdakota.com.
