(NewsDakota.com)- There was little doubt that Sekani Milligan and Mark Hoge had played at an All-American level this year and today they were honored by the NAIA as such. Both were named to NAIA DII men’s basketball All-American 2nd team.

Hoge led the Jimmies to the National Tournament for a second straight season despite losing the entire starting line-up from a year ago. His 28-point effort in the National qualifying game paced Jamestown College over No. 9 Rochester. Hoge had 36 points and nine threes the next day in a loss to Dakota State, but was named the A.I.I. Tournament’s most outstanding player.

The 6’3″ junior guard from Ironton, MN averaged 18.5ppg and also pulled down more than 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Valley City State’s Milligan was also honored as an All-American. The senior from Fort Lauderdale, FL averaged 18.3ppg in leading the Vikings to their first national tournament appearance since the 80’s.

Milligan had 23 in the narrow loss to Indiana Southeast in opening round of the tournament. VCSU will surely miss the run stopping and big shot abilities of Milligan moving forward.
