VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Wednesday night the Valley City Trap Shooting Team held their annual “Fun Night” Shooters and Parents were invited to join in special games and events testing skills.

Including an Annie Oakley shooting competition with all the shooters starting the event with elimination until the last shooter remains. This years winner was Matt Lyter, Runner up Braylen Bruns was runner up and Tyson Hovland.

The VCHS Trap Team had a very successful season. The conference season is done and VCHS placed 6th in the conference out of 7 teams. The trap team consists of 53 participants in grades 7-12. There are over 1400 total participants in the state of ND.

Highlights from the season are:

Blake Didier shot 50 out of 50 in the last week of competition. Braylen Bruns shot 25 out of 25 in weeks 2 and 4 during the competition season. Braylen Bruns placed 9th in the state with a 23.7 average. Braylen Bruns placed 3rd in the male division in the conference. Emma Mielke placed 5th in the female division in the conference with a 20.6 average. Evan Mielke and Blake Didier are tied for 59th in the state with a 22 average.
