Mark McKenzie(NewsDakota.com)…The 2011  Blue Jay girls golf season is underway, as the Jays took part in the East/West Classic at Crossroads Golf Course in Carrington on Saturday. The meet was suppose to be played in Jamestown, but the Country Club is still having flooding issues, and the meet was moved to Carrington.

Jamestown only had three golfers take part, so the Jays weren’t able to take part in the team competition. Individually, eighth grader Sierra Bennion tied for ninth with a 83. Sophomore Maria LeFevere shot a 96, and Sophomore Alyssa Barnick turned in a 116.

Next up for Jamestown is a trip to Rolla on Monday for the Turtle Mountain Invite.
