N.D.–Eighty five booths will be set up this Thursday as the annual Block Party event in Jamestown gets underway for the evening.  Gary Van Zinderen, co-chair of the Block Party told News Dakota that it’s the largest number of booths they have had.  “What’s really neat about this is that it’s not just the college students.  As many or more community members and families there as well, which is perfect because we want everyone to mix and mingle as a community.”
Van Zinderen added that booths will have various activities for every age including face painting, inflatable games, drawings, prizes, and free food.
Lori Listopad who works with new student orientation at Jamestown College told News Dakota that first year students in the Journey 101 course will be walking to the event together from campus.  The President of the College will be leading the pack and its also done to show students how easy it is to access the downtown area from campus.
The event will run from 5-8 p.m.
