(NewsDakota.com)- Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams from Jamestown College went on the road last night and knocked off the Cougars of UM-Morris. 

In the first game of the double-header, the women rolled to 80-60 win sparked by a 49-point offensive explosion in the opening half.

Four women hit double-figures, paced by Carly Jensen’s 13. Bridget Schuneman added 12. Megan Pold and Amber Ramlo each had 11.

The Jimmies had assists on 22 of their 30 made FGs in the game. Hannah  Steele had a game-high nine.

In the night cap, the men picked up their fourth-straight win. Davon Thomas stole the show in the second half with 18 points in the second session.

At the half, the Jimmies lead by seven. UM-Morris scored the first six points in the second half, but after that JC went on a huge run of 24-2 to put away the Cougars.

Drew Preiner had 17, 13 of those in the first half. Travis Burley, who had a tough time getting going in the early parts of the game, finished with 14.

Up next: Both teams will hit the road for Thanksgiving Tournaments. The women will be in Dickison to take on Rocky Mountain College on Friday tip-off at 3 p.m. before battling Montana-Western on Saturday at 1 p.m. Those games can be heard on KQDJ and streamed live at NewsDakota.com

The men will travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa for the William Penn Classic. They will battle William Penn on Friday at 6 p.m. and Presentation College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
