LAKE, N.D. (AP) – Members of a North Dakota farm family
who were involved a standoff with authorities have all bonded out
of jail. Combined, they posted more than $250,000 in bond. They’re
set to arraigned at the end of the month for the 16-hour armed
standoff in June over the ownership of six cows on their property
near Lakota.
     
MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – A Mandan man says he panicked and hid a gun
allegedly used in a fatal shooting outside his house and then lied
to police about what happened. Nicholas Reed pleaded guilty to
charges of hindering law officers and giving them false information
when they investigated the October 2010 death of 22-year-old Xavier
Thompson. Reed faces up to two years in jail for the misdemeanor.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – State Agriculture Commissioner Doug
Goehring says this weekend’s Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase in
Bismarck will be the biggest ever. A record 235 vendor booths will
fill the Civic Center to sell North Dakota merchandise. The
showcase begins tonight and runs through Sunday.
     
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota State’s women’s volleyball team
takes on Minnesota tonight as the Bison try to end a recent history
of NCAA tournament losses to the Gophers. Minnesota’s beaten NDSU
in straight sets in their previous two tournament meetings.
