CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner basketball teams each face Wahpeton tonight, re-entering Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play for 2012, in separate locales.

The Hi-Liner girls host the Huskies, while the boys travel to Wahpeton tonight, a wrinkle in the EDC schedule that the league seems to embrace.

The Hi-Liner girls face a Wahpeton team that has run out to a 4-2 start in the EDC, 4-3 overall, with Grand Forks Central, Devils Lake, and a two-league-point win over Fargo South 56-49 in their last game Tuesday.

Valley City won it’s last game, a 63-57 win over Maple Valley in Tower City Tuesday night.  They are 2-2 in EDC play, and also beat South in a two-league-point matchup by seven.

Wahpeton’s boys have stormed out to a 4-1 EDC mark, defeting Central, Fargo Davies, Devils Lake, and Fargo North, beating North 74-59 Tuesday night.  They are ranked fifth in the latest Class “A” boys basketball poll.

The Hi-Liners are struggling, losing five straight games, their last loss a 58-45 defeat at non-league Jamestown.

Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.  The boys matchup will be broadcast on KOVC-AM 1490, with pregame coverage starting at 7:10 p.m.
