CITY (NewsDakota.com) The next Valley City administrator, David Schelkoph starts his new job on Monday. He said he’s looking forward to getting his family settled into the city and diving into the job.

Schelkoph said he wants to guide city workers to have an opportunity to do the best job they can as city employees.

Schelkoph is a 1978 graduate of Valley City High School and an electrical engineering graduate of NDSU. He also served 8 years in the Air Force.

He and his wife Renee have three grown children. He recently worked as the manager for Killdeer Mountain manufacturing in Dickinson.

The city approved the employment contract, for Schelkoph during the Tuesday city commission meeting.

Schelkoph replaces Jon Cameron who accepted a job in Perry, Oklahoma as that city’s administrator.
