Gemar, 82, of Oakes, ND, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes, ND.

Florence was born November 12, 1929 to William and Caroline (Raile) Schock. She married Kenneth Gemar on November 27, 1949 at Verona, North Dakota. They made their home and farmed near Crete, North Dakota until 1963 when they moved to Oakes. Kenneth passed away March 30, 1995. Florence moved to the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, ND in May of 2010, and in April of 2011, she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Charlet (Gary) Molstad of Oakes; two sons, Richard (Myrna) Gemar of Oakes, and Daryl (Kathryn Reali) Gemar of Edina, MN; four grandchildren, Suri, Ali, Amanda, and R.C.; one brother, Fred (Jan) Schock, Park City, MT; and three sisters, Esther Rufsvold, Lisbon, ND, Ruth (Robert) Gyldenvand, Fargo, ND, and Gladys Shockman, Oakes, ND. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, a son LaWayne, a daughter Jane, a sister Irene Hempler, a brother Marvin, an infant brother Irwin, a sister-in-law Olga, and four brothers-in-law Zack, Marvin, Orville, and Harry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oakes, ND, with the funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oakes View Cemetery.
