(NewsDakota.com)- The Jamestown College softball team ended its regular season play with a trip to Sioux City, IA to battle Briar Cliff. The Jimmies split the pair, taking the first game 2-0 before dropping the finale 3-2.
Jessica Lees went five innings for the win in game 1 while striking out two and and allowing just two hits. Jamestown was able to plate single runs in the 4th and 6th innings.
Rachel Ivelia singled home the first run and the second scored on a sacrifice fly from Allis Roper.
In game 2, DJ Johnson worked the circle for Jamestown College. She would get tagged with the loss, going five innings giving up all three earned runs. A RBI triple from Briar Cliff’s Emma Verge broke the tie in the 5th inning.
The Jimmies will play in the DAC Tournament coming up tomorrow in Mayville.
