(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Post 36 baseball team has a new skipper for the 2012 season: Lucas Patzlaff.

The Mitchell South Dakota native, who takes over from Matt Hagen, has been in Oakes for about five years and has played baseball all his life from T-Ball all the way through high school. As far as coaching experience, Patzlaff coached little league ball in Mitchell after he graduated from high school. 

Patzlaff says the team he inherits is young, but is hoping to give the teams in Section I a run for their money this season.

The 2012 legion baseball season for Post 36 starts on June 4 as Oakes heads to Lisbon. Coverage of select Post 36 games can once again be heard on KDDR-AM 1220 and NewsDakota.com.
