CITY (NewsDakota.com)–Add another wrestling championship for Hi-Liner standout Brandon Larson.
This one is prestigious.
Larson recently captured the second and third legs of wrestling’s triple crown, winning the state Greco-Roman title and state Freestyle title at the contests for both at the Bette Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks at the end of April.
A wretling triple crown is winning state championships in folkstyle (high school wrestling), greco-roman, and freestyle. Larson won a state title for the Hi-Liners in February in Bismarck.
Larson wrestled at the 190-pound weight class during his senior high school season this past year, and did not surrender a single offensive piont to a North Dakota wrestler all season. He wrestled at the 220-pound class for the tournaments in Grand Forks.
Larson will wrestle for the NDSU Bison this fall.
