(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown and Valley City law enforcement officers will team up to take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics North Dakota on Thursday.

The Jamestown Torch Run begins at mile marker 262 on Interstate 94 Thursday morning at 10 a.m. At around noon, Valley City and Jamestown law enforcement will meet at mile marker 276, where Valley City officers will take over for the Valley City Torch Run.

Law enforcement agencies across the state are holding torch runs Thursday through Saturday, culminating with the final leg on Saturday morning during the Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics State Summer Games at Fargo Davies High School.

The Torch Run is organized by law enforcement and is the largest grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics.
