(NewsDakota.com) – The American Red Cross says an overnight fire in Jamestown has displaced a family of seven.

Lietenant Sheldon Mohr with the Jamestown Fire Department says the fire was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday night at 301 4th Avenue Northwest, and firefighters were on the scene for more than two hours. Mohr says there was quite a bit of damage on the second floor of the residence, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross and Salvation Army provided items and support for the family overnight, and also helped line up temporary lodging for the family of seven.

Thirty firefighters and seven units responded to the scene.
