(NewsDakota.com) After quite the successful season in 2011, the Oakes High School football team has started their preparations for the 2012 season.

The first practice was Wednesday, and the first game is scheduled for Friday August 24th, as Oakes welcomes Britton/Hecla South Dakota, a team that Oakes trounced last season across the border to start their season; which saw a run to the elite eight in Class A football ending with a loss to fellow Region I opponent Maple Valley/Enderlin.

Greg Dobitz is back for his second year as the head coach of Tornado football, and all games can be heard on KDDR 1220-AM/95.9-FM and NewsDakota.com with Jason Metko and Rich Voegeli. All regular season games kick off at 7 p.m., and broadcasts throughout the season will start at 6:40 p.m.
