CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Barnes County will have a new State’s Attorney February 14, the commission appointed Carl Martineck to fill out the remaining term of Lee Grossman. Martineck is excited about the new challenge.

Martineck, his wife (a native of Barnes County) and daughter live in Valley City. He will have to run for a full term during the November 2014 election.

The search for the assistant Barnes County State’s Attorney continues, the application deadline is January 17.

Lee Grossman accepted a position with the Myhre Law firm in Valley City.
