(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School volleyball team ended their inaugural District 5 regular season with a mark of 6-1 after earning a pair of wins over the last few days via sweeps.

The Tornadoes played at Montpelier on Saturday afternoon and swept Litchville-Marion-Montpelier by scores of 25-5, 25-18 and 25-13. On Tuesday night, Oakes registered a sweep at home against Carrington by scores of 26-24, 25-19 and 25-20.

Oakes’ overall record stands at 26-5, and will be the second seed in the upcoming District 5 Tournament in a couple of week. The final regular season game for the Tornadoes is on the road Tuesday October 21 against Lisbon. Coverage can be heard on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com.
