N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for March 19th through April 1st.
According to the report from Fire Chief Jim Ruether, there was a total of 268 runs that the department responded to. Looking at the report, it’s been a very busy two weeks for the fire department. Since the beginning of the year, the department has responded to 60 total calls. Below is a full list of calls, dates and times of runs between March 19th and April 1st.
March 21st, 2:32PM, fire department responded to I 94 and Hwy 281 South, Perkins Family Restaurant, to a report of a fire on the roof. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units, firefighters investigated the area where the fire was. Cause-air make-up unit malfunction. No injuries were reported. Time out 45 minutes.
March 22nd, 8:45AM, ready squad responded to 246 15th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0ppm was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 55 minutes.
March 22nd, 2:59PM, ready squad responded to 310 1st Ave South, Hugo’s, to investigate odor smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 25 minutes.
March 22nd, 5:01PM, fire department responded to 1517 Hwy 281 North, to a report of a trailer home on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Jamestown Rural Fire department assisted in the extinguishment of the fire. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour 40 minutes.
March 23rd, 10:54AM, ready squad responded to 1300 2nd Place NE, Eventide, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
March 24th, 11:38AM, ready squad responded to 501 19th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 10 minutes.
March 25th, 11:57PM, fire department responded to 703 1st St West, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of smoke. Firefighters extinguished a small fire and investigated. Cause-electrical. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour 55 minutes.
March 27th, 3:21PM, ready squad responded to 2534 Circle Drive, NDSH-Industry Shop, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-blowing dust activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
March 29th, 3:25AM, ready squad responded to 501 19th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.
March 30th, 2:55AM, ready squad responded to 1417 Western Park Village, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate gas odor. Firefighters checked the structure and detected a faint odor of gas. Cause-oven range. Occupant was advised to a have a qualified firm check all gas fueled appliances. Time out 50 minutes.
March 31st, 5:54AM, ready squad responded to 701 3rd St SW, Anne Carlson Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-fire drill being performed. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
March 31st, 5:52PM, fire department responded to 2515 17th St SE, Aggregate Industries, to a report of a fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-propane leak on a heater. No injuries reported. Time out 50 minutes.
April 1st, 1:04AM, ready squad responded to 1421 9th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0ppm was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 30 minutes.
A reminder that a red flag warning is in effect until 7:00 PM April 2nd. Officials are urging individuals to refrain from burning to prevent wildfire spread.
