N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown is awaiting preliminary reports from HDR on the feasibility of automated garbage collection and the potential for curbside recycling.

Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen stated that HDR is the consulting engineering firm that studies sanitation and solid waste departments as well as the operation of those departments.

Mayor Andersen said the study comes after preliminary budgets for the city had been approved. She stated that the hope would be that the study would find an efficient way to help make both budgets balance better.

The preliminary results are expected to be released to the city later this fall.
