N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s the news all ice anglers were waiting for; the ice base for most of the state is set.

Anglers had to wait a little longer this winter to head out onto safe ice for the season. North Dakota Game & Fish Biologist Doug Leier says individuals should still be mindful when stepping out onto the ice.

Leier says a weekend warm up is going to be beneficial on a lot of different levels.

Leier says it also makes it a little more enjoyable for the anglers. He says they expect a spike of people out on the ice this weekend. He also reports that for other hunters, it’s the final weekend for several different game.

You can catch Doug Leier every Thursday on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning at 7:20 AM.
