WAHPETON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Oak Grove avoided an upset from Kindred and Wyndmere/Lidgerwood held on to beat Maple Valley Thursday night in The Region 1 semifinals. The Grovers and Warbirds will battle for a trip to state while The Vikings and Raiders look to end their season with one last win.

No.1 Oak Grove 59 vs. No.5 Kindred 52
The Vikings trailed 22-21 at halftime but were outscored 37-31 down the stretch by The Grovers. Kindred was 42.9% from the field compared to Oak Grove’s 37.7%.
Andrew Christianson poured in a game high 23 points along with 7 rebounds. Tjadan Anderson had 14 points.
Kindred’s Gavin Keller was 8 for 12 from the field and finished with 18 points. Dawson Schaffer added 9.
No.2 Wyndmere/Lidgerwood 54 vs. Maple Valley 49
After 2 ties and 9 lead changes The Warbird came out on top. Heading into the final 8 minutes W-L held a 42-38 advantage and narrowly out produced Maple Valley 12-11.
Three players paced The Warbirds with 13 points; Luke Foertsch, Wyatt Harles and Ismael Vasquez.
Hunter Smith had 19 for Maple Valley. Jacob Johnson and Dustin Kasowski both added 8 points.
