JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Arts Center continues to bring in new and interesting exhibits for everyone in the region.

The newest exhibit features the work of Bradford Hansen-Smith. Hansen-Smith uses simple circles and transforms them over and over again into different geometric shapes.

Education Coordinator Myra Olson says the exhibit “Circles” fills the gallery. Hansen-Smith teaches his art through books, videos, in-person workshops, and hands on learning.

“Since nobody was doing anything but drawing pictures of circles, I decided it was my job to fold circles,” Hansen-Smith says.

“It is about observing and forming a dialogue with the circle. This is an exploration to find out the nature of the circle and what can be generated by simple folding and joining. It is about observation and paying attention to the symmetry of movement, allowing the forms and systems to develop, and they are always beautiful.”

Olson says they have already received numerous comments on the gallery, which remains open to the public through January 30th.

The Arts Center Gallery is open Weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM.
