JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – High winds throughout most of North Dakota brought down the community Christmas tree in Jamestown in front of the Civic Center Tuesday.
The Bismarck National Weather Service reports that peak wind gusts of 48 mph rolled through Jamestown, enough to topple the tree on the west side of the Civic Center.
Wind speeds across the state included 55 mph in Carrington, 46 mph in Oakes, 44 mph in Harvey, and 43 in Bismarck.
Wind chills tonight are expected to be below zero tonight across the region with some close to 25 below zero in the Northeast portion of the state.
