JAMESTOWN, N.D. (UJ) – The University of Jamestown is hosting an Instrument Repair Workshop at the Reiland Fine Arts Center on June 3 – 6 from 8-4 pm. This workshop will be led by Dr. Tom Geffre, who has over 40 years of experience and is a former band director. Dr. Geffre is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Jamestown.

This workshop is for choir and band directors, and will use a teach-test system, demonstrating certain repair procedures, outlining problems that are most prominent with instruments, and then offering solutions. Workshop participants will then do repairs on instruments they bring along with the instructor serving as a resource person.

The Instrument Repair Workshop is offered for 1-2 continuing education credits, or may be taken for non-credit. For more information visit uj.edu/repair. To register, contact Dr. Richard Walentine, D.M.A., Chair, Department of Music at rwalenti@uj.edu. Deadline to register is Wednesday, May 30.
