WAHPETON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City used a 7-2 run to end the game and turn a one point deficit into a 55-51 win over Wahpeton Friday night in high school girls basketball.

Jordyn Kahler’s three-point play with 3:24 to go in the game gave the Huskies a 49-48 lead. But Jadyn Dieterle hit two free throws with 3:01 remaining to give the lead back to the Hi-Liners and they held on from there.

Brooke Eggermont led the Hi-Liners with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dieterle added 13 points, seven boards and three assists. Peyton Pederson was also in double figures with 11 points. Lindsey Noekse chipped in seven points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

Kahler led Wahpeton with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Valley City improves to 5-5 in the Eastern Dakota Conference and 6-6 overall. Wahpeton falls to 2-9 overall and 2-9 in the conference.
