JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 1st Avenue in Jamestown was packed with community members, organizations, businesses, and University of Jamestown students Wednesday night.

The 13th Annual University of Jamestown Community Block Party has become a staple event to introduce incoming students to the community they’ll be living in for their college education.

Dustin Jensen is the Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs at the University.

Jensen says the event has become a signature event for starting off the year for new students.

It’s estimated more than 4,000 students and community members attend the annual event. More than 100 booths featuring different organizations and businesses lined three blocks of downtown Jamestown this year.

John Mazur has helped organize this years event.

A highlight of the event had the over 370 new students walk down the hill from the college all at once and flood the event in a sea of orange.
