Betty Kreidlkamp, 89, of Valley City, ND passed away January 15, 2022 at CHI Mercy Hospital, Valley City, ND. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens.

Betty Elaine Gale, was born January 7, 1933, in Valley City, ND. Her parents were Vernon T. and Clara (Bondeli) Gale. She graduated from College High School in 1950. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1954 from Valley City State University. After graduating from Valley City State University, she taught kindergarten for three years in Grand Forks, ND.

Betty was united in marriage to Raymond Kreidlkamp on December 26, 1956. They lived in Valley City for five years before moving to their farm near Cuba, ND. After 15 years on the farm they moved back to Valley City. Betty was a substitute teacher, Sunday school teacher and worked with the Kinship Program and Crop Walk.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, dogs, trees and flowers. She liked to square dance and round dance. Betty was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was active with the Sarah Circle and the Good Samaritan’s Quilters.

Betty is survived by her children Karen Spenningsby, Valley City, ND; Susan (Roger) Lussenden, Sioux Falls, SD; Lori (Dan) Nelson, Rochester, MN; and son Kevin (Naomi) Kreidlkamp, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Nicole Spenningsby, Joy (Adam) Broin, Holly Lussenden, Chris Nelson, Sarah Brown, Katherine Nelson, Tyler Kreidlkamp and Amanda Kreidlkamp; and great-granddaughters Maren and Coren Broin. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Strand, Diane (Dale) Josewski, Nancy (Jerry) Anderson and June Wicks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sister, Kay Hills; and son-in-law, Brad Spenningsby.
