The LaMoure Loboes swept a high school baseball doubleheader over Carrington on Friday night in class B region 3 action. LaMoure defeated the Cardinals 18-8 in the first game in six innings and picked up a 12-5 victory in the nightcap.

The Loboes scored 2 runs in the opening inning and poured on 9 more runs in the second inning to take a commanding 11-0 lead. The Cards would fight back in the top of the third inning scoring six unearned runs after a 2 out error that the Cardinals took full advantage. With 2 out and no runners on, the Cards recorded their first 2 hits of the game from Josh Bickett (single) and Tate Wolsky (double). With runners at second and third Max Whitman hit a ground ball to third that appeared to be the final out but the throw to first base was errant and the Cardsscored 2 runs on the play. Three walks and 2 hit batters, along with a Jacob Boeshans RBI single scored 4 more runs in the inning cutting the Loboe lead to 11-6. The Loboes would tally 2 runs in the third,1 run in the fourth, 3 runs in the fifth, and finished the game in the bottom of the sixth on a Jake Kramer RBI single that scored Jacody Lewis. Tate Wolsky went 3-4 at the plate for the Cards driving in 2 runs and added 2 stolen bases. The Loboes had 19 hits in the game with Kramer going 3-4, Colby Thielges 2-3, 2 BB, 2 runs, and 2 RBI. Damian Carlson went 3-4, 3 RBI, and 3 runs. Brady Hanson finished 3-5 with 3 RBI, and 2 runs. Gunner Thielges went 3-5 with 3 RBI, and 2 runs. Russel Exner walked three times and scored 3 runs.

The Loboes again would take the early lead at 5-0 after four and a half innings before the Cards would strike for three 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Cards hadn’t recorded a hit until this inning. Jameson Kutz started the inning with a bloop single into right field. Bickett would drill a double to deep right center field that plated Kutz and put Layton Savageau (reached on BB). Wolsky followed with a 2 RBI single scoring Bickett and Savageau. Trailing 5-3 after five innings LaMoure put the game out of reach with 5 runs in the top of the sixth with only 1 earned run due to 3 Cardinal errors. The Loboes added 2 more runs in the 7th and the Cards would also add 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh for the 12-5 Loboe win. Wolsky finished 1-4 with 1 run, and 2 RBI. Bickett went 1-4 with 2 runs, and RBI. Boeshans went 2-4, and Ethan Roller went 1-4 with a 2 RBI double in the final inning. The Cards dropped to 2-9 overall and 2-3 in region play and the Loboes improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in region play.
