MANDAN – Sarah Helderop scored three goals Tuesday as Mandan stormed to a 4-0 lead and held off Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Soccer 4-2 at the Starion Sports Complex.

Helderop scored her first for Mandan (3-0-0, 3-0-0 WDA) in the fourth minute.  She added a second goal in the 20th minute.  Sierra Gustavsson scored in the 36th minute for a 3-0 Braves lead at the half.

Helderop completed the hat trick in the 57th minute and Mandan led 4-0.

Jamestown (0-2-1, 0-1-1) broke through in the 61st minute when Hadley Jackson scored.  Layla Becker converted a penalty kick for the Blue Jays in the final minute of the match.

Anna Lunde made five saves in goal for Jamestown.

JHS will play at Minot North on Thursday.
