
BISMARCK – In a doubleheader split, Jamestown Blue Jays baseball lost game one Thursday to St. Mary’s 9-5 at Aaron Haaland Memorial Field. Jamestown came back to defeat St. Mary’s in the second game 11-3.
Game 1: St. Mary’s 9, Jamestown 5
An improved team for St. Mary’s (4-6, 3-2 WDA) doubled its 2025 win total by scoring all their runs in the first three innings off Blue Jays started Hudson Rode.
Boston Schoch had three hits and drove in two runs for St. Mary’s. Bennett Grimm had three hits and one RBI.
Bennett Goehner had a two-run double and Edison Walters knocked a two-run single for Jamestown (2-3, 2-3).
Game 2: Jamestown 11, St. Mary’s 3
Five runs in the third inning started an outburst for Jamestown (3-3, 3-3 WDA). One of six errors by St. Mary’s (4-7, 3-3) led to the first three runs of the frame on a dropped fly ball that would have been the third out.
Jamestown followed with two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings and one run each in the sixth and seventh. Cody Busch hit three singles and drove in two runs. Nolan Maudling and Goehner each had two hits. Shane Martin struck out seven batters in six innings for the win.
The Blue Jays will host Bismarck in a doubleheader Monday at 4:30 PM at Jack Brown Stadium.
