
LITTLE FALLS, MN – A solid Saturday in Minnesota sent the win total to 13 for Jamestown Blue Jays Softball.
The Jays took two from the Little Falls Flyers, 9-3 and 14-13 to improve to 13-9 overall.
Game 1: Jamestown 9, Little Falls 3
Megan Jarrett singled, doubled and drove in three for Jamestown. Jordan Mikkelson hit a single and also knocked in three runs.
Maddie Hoff had two hits and pitched a six-hitter with nine strikeouts. Brooke Jackson also had two hits.
Game 2: Jamestown 14, Little Falls 13 (8)
An RBI double by Rilie Wolf in the bottom of the seventh won the game for Jamestown and completed a comeback from deficits of 11-3 and 13-6.
Jamestown scored five times in the last of the sixth to cut the Flyers’ lead to 13-11, then tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball and an RBI single by Kinlee Klettke.
The seventh inning rally began after two out. Sophia Bond had an infield single, then Wolf’s double, her fourth hit and third RBI, ended the game.
Klettke was 3-for-3 with three RBI. Mikkelson had three hits and Bond had two. Sully Amundson pitched the last three and a third innings for the win.
JHS will return to WDA play with a doubleheader Thursday against Williston at Trapper Lawrence Field. Coverage will begin at 3:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
