
WEST FARGO – Maddie Hoff proved again how she can be dominant in the circle and at the plate.
Hoff threw another no-hitter and helped herself with a home run Thursday as Jamestown won game one of a regular season-ending doubleheader at West Fargo High School 5-0. The Packers drilled the Blue Jays in the second game 18-8.
Game 1: Jamestown 5, West Fargo 0
Hoff (11-4) struck out eight and walked two in her third no-hitter of the season. Only in the seventh inning did West Fargo (12-11) have two runners on at the same time.
Hoff gave herself and Jamestown (18-11) all the runs they needed with her fourth home run, a two-run blast to center field in the fourth inning. She doubled in another run in the sixth inning. Sophia Bond singled in the last two Blue Jay runs in the seventh.
Game 2: West Fargo 18, Jamestown 8 (5)
Brooklyn Williams, Claire Osland and Brynlee Rheault all homered for West Fargo (13-11), who scored in all five innings and scored five runs in the fifth inning to clinch the run rule win.
Avery Graves hit a grand slam for a 4-0 lead for Jamestown (18-12) in the first inning, her seventh home run this season. Morgan Scott hit a two-run home run in the fifth.
Jamestown will meet Bismarck on Thursday, May 21 in a quarterfinal game of the Class A West Region tournament at Williston State College’s Lenninger Field.
