CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner softball team held on for a 7-5 win over Grand Forks Central, a win good for two points in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play.

Valley City took a 4-0 lead after three innings, then ran into trouble, allowing the Knights to within a run before sealing a win.

Keely Fogarty earned the win, allowing four earned runs on seven hits, striking out eight.  Dierra Diegel had three hits in four trips to the plate, and Jessica Denholm and Allison Baasch each had two hits, with Baasch driving in four runs.

The Hi-Liners host Enderlin today, weather permitting, in non-conference action.
