JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Despite the rough winter, Jamestown’s Lincoln Elementary School is doing their part to warm the soles of many in third world countries.
Students, families, teachers, and staff have donated 144 pairs of new and gently used shoes to the Jamestown Dollars for Scholars Shoe Drive. The goal is 7,500 pairs of shoes! These shoes will be shipped to third world countries. Dollars for Scholars will be paid for the number of pounds of shoes donated. These funds will be used to provide scholarships to JHS Seniors. Help keep shoes out of landfills, help micro-businesses in third world countries and provide scholarships to JHS Seniors.
New and gently used shoes will be collected through April. Currently, there are collection boxes at RM Stoudt, Edgewood Living, Anne Carlsen, Legacy Fitness, James River Senior Center, AAUW Bookstore/RSVP Dakota Store, Trinity Lutheran Church, Grace Episcopal Church, United Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, I Will Fitness, Bank Forward, Washington Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Louis L’Amour Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Gussner Elementary, Solid Foundations Growing Center and Agri-Cover.
