WISHEK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The South Border Mustangs won set one, three and five on Tuesday night over the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion to put them into the semifinal round of the Class B Region 3 volleyball tournament. The Mustangs won 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 7-25, 15-10) and improve to 11-8 overall and LLM ends their season at 12-8 overall.

The first three sets were back and forth and very close, set two featured eight ties. The Loboes jumped out to an early 9-4 advantage in set four and never looked back winning 25-7. In set five, the Mustangs led 6-5 and pulled away to a 12-6 lead and later won 15-10 to secure the victory. Unofficially, the Mustangs were led by Emily Jochim with 11 kills and Emily St. Aubin with five, and LLM was led by Heidi Steffes with 11 kills.

South Border will take on the District 5 champs, the Carrington Cardinals in Carrington on Thursday night at 7pm. KDAK AM 1600/FM 100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the coverage starting about 645pm.
