CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner volleyball team dropped it’s Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) finale at Grand Forks Red River 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-15) last night in Grand Forks.

The Rough Riders are a power every year, and are currently 28-0 this season.  The win moved them to 14-0 in EDC play.

Valley City is now 2-16 in league play, 12-23 overall.  The Hi-Liners are currently in 10th place, two behind Devils Lake in the loss column.  Should Devils Lake win one of their remaning matches, either at home with Wahpeton Friday night or at Fargo Davies Tuesday, the Hi-Liners will finish 10th.  They are ninth if Devils Lake loses those matches.

A key match that will affect play-in scenarios for the Hi-Liners is next week, when Wahepton faces Grand Forks Central.  The Huskies trail the Knights for seventh, but could catch them with a win in four sets or less.  Should the Hi-Liners finish 10th, they would see one of those teams.

If they finish ninth, the Hi-Liners would travel back to Fargo South, who scored a dominating win over Valley City 3-0 (25-23. 25-14, 25-11) Tuesday.
