VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Police Department is notifying residents about a high-risk sex offender who has recently moved to Valley City.

58-year-old Brian Keith Sternberg, is now residing at The Tourist Park, 675 East Main Street #16, Valley City, ND 58072. Sternberg drives a 1999 Green, Ford F100 or a 2013White GMC Sierra. Sternberg, a white male, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has brown eyes and gray/bald hair. He has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Sternberg was convicted of child abuse and continuous sexual abuse of a child in 2000 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was also charged with corrupt/solicitation of a minor in 1992 where he served 1 year 11 months in prison. All of these charges were within North Dakota District Court.

Police emphasize that Sternberg is not currently wanted and has served his court-imposed sentence. The notification aims to ensure public safety and is not intended to incite fear or vigilantism. Residents are warned that harassment, intimidation, or threats against Sternberg, his family, landlords, or employers will result in prosecution.
